So, I hate the way graduate school is designed. I’m taking a break from slowly writing a 10 page historiographical review of the Annales school. It is for my theories class and honestly I find the assignment pointless. Nevermind the fact that never once was there a clear definition of the assignment provided. Hopefully what I finish with tonight is sufficient enough- I really would be preferring to work on my own things, things that actually interest me rather than writing about French historians I find mildly engaging. I suppose for me theories class is just too… theoretical? I also just hate that we have to knock this out in under a week really- because the pace is so ridiculous at this level I have hardly had time to read reviews of the books I am writing on, nevermind actually reading them.
More exciting news is I’m going to Columbus on Thursday to see the Pens play the Jackets and hopefully make another S&E meeting happen. Nashville was good, but I need them to know that I am trying to make a career of this sort of thing.
I suppose I’ll get back to work now though, I have at least 8 more pages to go.
